20 Weeks

This week has been quite the busy week with Gator Football and Labor Day Weekend so far, and its only Monday! How Far Along: 20 weeks 2 days How Big is Baby: Head to rump, he is now almost 10 to 11 ounces and is 10 inches long. Development:  By 20 weeks, he is now practicing breathing and swallowing on a regular basis.  He continues to grow and fill out, with his head becoming slightly more proportional to the rest of his body.   His skin is becoming more complex now, forming different layers. The epidermis has four layers that contain ridges for fingertips. The layers that form in his palms and feet will provide him with his own unique fingerprint later in life. How huge is mama: Officially gained 8 lbs which was confirmed at our doctor's appointment on 9/2…no too bad! Movement: I was at the beach with Erik, Matt, and Ash today (Labor Day) and I am pretty sure I saw my tummy move when he kicked.  I tried to get him to do it again so they could all see, but of course, he was being stubborn and would not do it on command.  So Erik and I are going to try again tonight, because I know Erik is dying to feel his son move. Food: Cravings have still been the same, but I do enjoy Olive Garden and want to eat there more regularly…haha! Belly Button: Still an innie Preparations: Now that we know for sure we are having a boy, let the creative juices begin to flow.  I am sure we will begin designing the room soon, and I cannot wait! Pregnancy Symptoms: That darn round ligament pain has set in more frequently.  Especially with sneezing! Milestones: Finding out we are having a son has been such a HUGE milestone.  We are so overjoyed and thrilled and we are excited to be bringing another Gator baby into this world. Looking forward to next: Decorating, Planning, our 24 week doctor's appointment, and Erik and I are planning a trip to NYC for our 5th anniversary which was in July.
