Baby Stats:

Heartbeat: 132 bpm

Fundus: 30 cm

How Far Along: 30 weeks 5 days How Big is Baby: Head to toe, Grant is still about 17 inches long and he weighs just over 3 lbs. Development: Starting at 30 weeks, Grant's brain is getting bigger daily, preparing him for life outside the womb and a lifetime of learning.  His brain is starting to take on the typical grooves and indentations and is now delegating more higher functioning tasks like temperature regulation.  He is also starting to shed his lanugo, which is the downy, soft body hair that has been keeping him warm up to this point. How huge is mama: 21 lbs total...YIKES!  It looks like it is salads, chicken, and veggies from this point on.  My doctor says that all those breads and pastas that I love so much will definitely show up on my hips much quicker during pregnancy, especially as I near the end. Movement: He is still a little wiggle worm, doing flips and turns in there, but I can definitely tell he is running out of space. Food: No much changed here, except I make a mean pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese frosting and I want to eat them all the time. Belly Button: Still barely and innie Preparations: Mainly preparing his room, cleaning clothes, organizing, and we need to seriously pick a labor/birth preparation class. Pregnancy Symptoms: BACK PAIN...BOO! Milestones: Passing my 3 hr GTT.  As you may have read in the previous 28 week post, I failed my 1 hr glucose test (which tests for gestational diabetes) which prompted the 3 hr GTT saga.  At the doctors office this afternoon I found out I passed with flying colors.  Thank goodness, because who wants to tailor their diet that much during pregnancy?  Isn't this the only time in life that I can eat whatever I want...haha!  On a side note, apparently only 15% of women who fail their 1 hr GTT go on to fail their 3 hr GTT. Looking forward to next: West Palm Beach baby shower this weekend (11/20) and our pregnancy photo shoot.  Stay tuned for professional pictures to come!
